The 14th Amendment was obviously was created to give citizenship to slaves after the Civil War. Slavery in our country was an evil that our Founders attempted to eradicate, but could not at the time when they were creating our Constitution.

Fast forward to July 1, 2026, when the United States Supreme Court destroyed the meaning of citizenship. We now have a whole different problem on our hands.

For most of the past century, our country has done little to enforce citizenship and immigration law. In the past few decades, illegal immigration has gotten totally out of control. The Autopen Regime ignored any sensible restrictions, and in fact, encourage violation US immigration law.

In case it’s not clear, Democrats need foreigners for votes. The Democrat message has failed miserably for decades. They have finally realized that Americans don’t want to vote for Democrats. Democrats can only win national elections when they cheat.

So, what did they do? They changed the voter demographics – for two reasons. The first is to change apportionment. This is the number of Congressional Representatives assigned to each state based on population. In President Trump‘s first term, he tried to enforce a rule for the 2020 Census that only citizens would be counted. That is a sensible rule. Remarkably, the United States Supreme Court thought differently, allowing non-citizens to be counted in the Census so that lawless states would have more representation in The Congress.

That ruling allows Congressional Representation for foreigners who happen to be here in our country, regardless of their status, legal or illegal. The more recent US Supreme Court ruling that someone from any country could be present in the US or US territory just long enough to birth a baby, and that baby would automatically be a US citizen, entitled to all the rights of a US citizen, including becoming President and importing the rest of their family to become citizens. This is an absolutely absurd ruling. Fortunately, the Supreme Court opinion allows for federal law to make a definition or restriction on this possibility.

Although the outcome here is absurd at the moment, a different perspective on this precedent might be beneficial, this opinion does not create new law. If the Supreme Court had made a determination of who could be a citizen and who could not, that would be legislating from the bench. This is a result that Constitutional Conservatives despise.

My position, if it is not already clear, 1) illegal aliens of any type should be removed immediately; 2) birthright citizenship under every circumstance is an absurd proposition. Congress needs to make a law defining citizenship.
